They don't call them "thumb splitters" for nothing!

I had an enormous tarantula for several years. I used to handle her and let her crawl on me with impunity, until I saw what she did to a full-grown mouse. It was bloody and awful.

After that, I stopped letting her climb on me.

A lot of salt water anglers have had their fingers and thumbs shredded open by these critters. "Thumb-splitter" is an angler's term.

Good sir,
Do you have trouble walking due to your enormous balls of steel?? I don’t think people realize that a flick with one of the poppers on a large mantis shrimp is equal to the force of a .22 cal bullet. I bet this guy also eats a bowl of nails for breakfast without any milk like that bouncer from Spongebob Squarepants. Sharks probably have a week long marathon of tv documentaries devoted to this unidentified bada$$.
