What size Sump for a 210 Gallon
I've been out of the hobby for a while and I'm finally diving back in with a 210 (72 x 24 x 24) Gallon in wall setup. I know the larger the sump the better but due to the setup the larger the sump the less room I'll have for other equipment. I'm thinking of using a standard 90 Gallon (48 x 18 x 21) as a sump. What do you guys think?
Thanks for you time. EJ

As stated..in general the bigger the better...Beyond that find one that fits the equipment/needs you have and go for it...

Use the biggest container you can use for the available space.

A standard 90 gallon will be fine, I am building a 75 gallon sump for my 315 (7X2X3). I tried to snag a 125 to build my sump out of but the other guy was faster. I was planning on making part of it an auto top off reservoir anyway, so now it will just be a 29 gallon tank sitting next to the 75. Besides, 75's are CHEAP. Premade sumps are expensive and most rated for 300+ gallons are less than 75 gallons anyway. Like you I am also glad to have the extra room for equipment.

I miss spoke, it is a 210 gallon but the dimensions are 72" x 24" x 30".

A standard 75 or 90 would be my vote.

I would go with the 90 gallon sump but if you can get 125 gallon sump then you will be extra happy.
Whenever I had very large DT’s my sumps were 125 gallons and I was able to do a lot for my water because of so much room you will have in a 125 gallon sump. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

That would be a good size for your tank. The bigger the better.

and make sure when power is off the sump doesn't over flow. Need to make sure whatever sump you use can handle the drained water. Keep the return lines near the surface so they do not siphon a lot of water back. Doing this and the 90 should be fine.
Saying this because I have seen a friends setup do it first hand |

Thank you all for the feedback. I'm actually leaning towards a 120 gallon now as I have the added width under the tank.
