Thanks!

Try my SPS AB+ settings or the BRS AB+ settings for either a mixed reef or sps dominant tank. For reference I have a reefer 170 which is a mixed reef and am running an ati powermodule on it which is essentially equivalent to 4t5’s and a hydra 26HD.

Use the acclimation modes try 30% for 2 months. I have never killed an acro from too little light (slows their growth considerably) but have rtn many by putting too much light on them too quickly. The slow acclimation will give them plenty of time to adjust to the new tank. Also, if some of your acros go poof after the tank change don’t automatically assume it was the lights. I have never had much luck with acros surviving tank moves and the one thing I have learned with leds is to just pick a schedule and don’t change it again. The constant tinkering we want to do with the leds is acropora kryptonite lol

If at all possible I would get the lights up higher since the tank maybe 20-24” awl. Also on a 48” wide tank you will likely need a 3rd 52HD at some point to reduce shading.

Thank you Orcus. i'm actually running 2 26's and am getting good colorup from the 'stock' SPS AB+ with Respiration after 3 weeks. do you think I should increase V, RB, and B by 25% in the peaks and 21% in the respiration period? should i increase RGW as well?

Anyone running halides and LED?

I added the 400w pendants back onto my tank and wanted to see what LED scheduled those that are running both are using.

How many lights, how many pendants, and how big is the tank?

Ya that would help.

Tank is 72" x 36" x 36"

Right now I have (3) Hydra 52 HD.

I just put back on (3) 400w halide pendants.

If your getting good coloration and growth then don’t change anything. I eventually removed the respiration peaks from my schedule and have been running a schedule with 90 uv/v/rb/b 20 w/r/g 7hrs of max light and 2hr ramps. But the key with leds is just to pick a setting and never change it again. IMO that’s why we all had so much success with halides and t5 yet struggle with leds.

I’d hang the hydras as high as you can feasibly hang them and run the AB+ schedule.

Hi,

I have 3 Hydras 26 HD and plan to build a tank with 50" x 24" x 20", for mixed reef.
Do you think the lights are strong enough?

Thanks!

Just set the light to 100 Blue and violet channels and 24 White red green channels with 7 hrs at those values and 1-2hr ramps. That will get you close enough

Anyone running Hydra HD’s on a 40 breeder? Looking for best possible setting for mixed reef for a tank with that depth.

Got my 24" Aquatic Life Debuts LED/T5HO Hybrid light up today with my AI 26 HD!! Just need to clean up the wires.

Went with 2 ATI Blue Plus and 2 ATI Actinic. I will replace one actinic with another blue plus when I get a chance though.

So now that I am running my T5 how should I run them with my LED? I was thinking the front 2 T5 on for a few hours with my LED and then have it turn off and then have the back on after that for a few hours.. Just a thought.

How is everyone else accumulating their lights?

I have also attached my AI profile that I am gonna try out.

Just switched from Hydra26 to Hydra26HD. On the old Hydras (w/ Controller) you could turn on the weather effects (with random sweeping cloud cover) and turn off the lightning but with the new light controlled by the iPhone App I don't see that option in the settings. Did the new light lose that ability?

Sucks. I thought the new light would have more options. Not less. I just submitted a Help Request to ask the same question. You should too. If enough people want it maybe they'll update the firmware/app?

Hi all,

I have been secretly reading along a bit, and I collected from this thread, but also from several facebook groups quite some Hydra presets.

You can find them here: https://github.com/thijsjanzen/Aqua-...ion-Collection

Enjoy!

What is this "2 finger pinch move" you speak of? Please share! I also hate the app and interface. Especially with fat thumbs, it's a little difficult. I wish there was somewhere to manually input the time ranges and intensities so it was exactly when you want.
