Its acrylic you can drill it yourself.Beagle you can still have sand in the tank.I have all my flow aimed upwards. So if some detritus gets moved around it will be sent upwards towards the overflow. My pipes are about 4" off the tank bottom and I bought some OM fittings that allow you to aim the flow.My plumbing return lines are 1" and I don't get any sand storms. You should get a good clean up crew. This will help with any excess food. http://www.reeftopia.com/

Nice tank...lol.
Here is a little advice. First you are 100% right. If you go with a bb you wont have to deal with tons of sandstorms. I am constantly fixing my sand and adjusting my flow. I do like the look of sand though. I think the shallower tank makes it hard to keep the sand even. If I think of anything else I will post it. Good Luck |

so i know i have left you guys hanging so like i promised and about weeks worth of work there is huge progress. For those who read this ill add some updates. 1 the water gallon (300 gal) is 45 inches around and unfortunitly my doors are only 36 so you can do that math. 2 i finally got the tank and it was gorgous but they brought it on a 6ft penske truck with one driver. noe let me ask you how the heck do you get a 10ft by 4ft by 2 ft tank off a 6ft truck. Well you sit back and think a little bit. What we did was slide it to it teedered(spl) on the lift gate then by a hair it was able to spin and go on the lift gate. Lowered it on the life gate to the ground but not before i fell off the gate onto my fave from about 5 ft up. My new nickname is now penske :-(. We put the tank on dollys and kept it in the garage for about a week until construction started. There was the 2nd problem how to you get a 10ft tank inside? So after many failed atemps with moving companies and nobody wanting to life and carry a 600lbs tank inside, i went back to the drawing board. Unfortunetly i dont have pics but using physics and a little might myslef and my moms Bf constructed a 16ft ramp into the basement took the tank outside used Levers to lift it (2 8ft 2x4 nailed) and by some luck of god it didnt fall over. We had dollys and was able to get it on its side and ramp it into the basement and into the tank room( i have pics of that at least). So after about a week of work in the room we are at the tape and spackle part.
The tank is going to be a in wall tank which will have a bar infront of it so you can eat and drink at it. The room is split into two parts there is the tv/game room part and then the bar Tank room part. There is surround sound and i went with a 50 inch flat screen plasma on wall and a 26 inch Lcd for behind the bar. It will have 2 seperate zones or if you want 1 so u can play music and chill or what ever. OKOK HERE ARE THE PIC :-) I still have issues though and we will talk about them later This i the basement as it once was, empty In this photo you are looking at the Refuge(410Gal) and Sump(225) all the pumps with pics to follow as well as the light and other stuff Getting ready to frame

Framing as well as Drylock FLoor even though my basement is perfect and i mean perfect i put it down just for support and it stinks to walk around on concrete. The room is getting Half Carpet and Half wood flooring

So this is the stand build out of LVL and sits 56inches up. The tank is eye level standing and when you sit you will look directly in the center of the tank. The other side of the wall is the Fish room( i think thats where they normally are :-P)
So how do three guys one who works the night shift life a 600lbs tank into place. Like this About the worst idea you can have but it had to get done. Needless to say it was a slow and scary process i thought the while time it was gonna fall on me as i was the one useing the jacks and sliding the the 2x4 under 1 at a time We got the tank to the level we wanted and with one heave hoe with placed it down and used its own weight to life it up onto the stand and slide it into place
