Wow. $350 for a Potter’s wrasse today. I just bought two for $60 each from saltwater fish.com a few weeks ago. Insane

I was actually a click away from buying it about 10 seconds after it posted. I assumed it would be about $100-$130 and I didn’t even look at the price. I was just trying to order as quickly as possible. Luckily I glanced at the price before the last click.

For my previous ones, one is doing great. The other got too close to my gigantea.

They are really trying to take full advantage of the Hawaii collection issues. But it sold in 20 mins so I guess they’ll always be that high now until people stop blindly throwing money at them.

I grabbed that Juvenille yellow belly regal angel that showed up on Friday, and it arrived DOA this morning. I have been waiting for that fish for quite some time, what a disappointment.

Just grab one from the regular live aquaria section. They come in just as good as the DD ones from my experience

Sorry to hear that. Maldives Yellow Bellys have so far been rock solid and great shippers. I guess there is always that first time? The bad part is they are probably not going to be available till next season

I purchased a Regal from them several months ago that was also DOA. I just received a order on Friday that had a Royal gramma that was DOA, both were from QM though.

Being they are owned by Petco now I would expect that honestly. There are plenty of other fish not from Hawaii that they do that too, Polyzona Tangs come to mind... first one they offered on DD was $800 every one after that has been $1200. Hopefully Kevin Kohen will stick around for many years to come.

Polyzonas have gone up though. Expect 1200-1400 typically now for them

I know and that’s where I throw in the towel. Pretty sad when you can get a Gem tang for a few hundred cheaper than a Polyzona

Have two polyzona. They are very ugly. Convient tang looks better and are less aggressive to their own species I think.

Respectfully disagree. I think that Polyzona tang looks better than convict because their black is bolder and the contrast of color is stronger. You got yours to eat and survive. Many struggle to keep convicts alive. My only problem with Polyzona is price.

I agree!
Hey, did you want that phone number or email address?
PM me if so, have you considered getting them on your own and not with the other group you mentioned?

Let me know,

Ted

Something odd is going on with the DOAs. I snagged one of the Moorish Idols a few weeks back from DD. Got shipping notification followed by a cancellation of the order. Turned out the MI died before they could ship it.

I ordered 2 orders of Moorish.

1 order was cancelled. the 2 Moorish idols from the other order died within 1 day.

They asked me about my water quality. Maybe they should be asking qualitymarine for quality control.

I’ve been to QM. I’ve seen first hand how they run things. It is by far the best wholesaler in LA and probably the country. They go above and beyond what the other wholesalers do.
I would look more towards why things have dipped after petco bought out liveaquaria vs Qm.
