Overflow Surging

Can anyone tell me what is going on here. New used setup. 90 gallon with Aqueon proflex sump. Mag drive 9.5 pushing through 3/4 ID return.

Can you slow the flow with a valve?
Looks like you are pushing too much water.

Too much flow, siphon overdoes it.

Tune it down with a gate valve

Figured it out. Tried a lesser pump with no change. It was the drain line not being straight. Now it is fine. Thanks

Yep.. flowrate too high.. Its flushing..
Add valve on output of return pump to slow the system flowrate down..
or convert to herbie (over top return),etc...
