Sump fish?

Has anyone purposefully kept a fish in their sump for maintenance? I dont have a refugium or anything. I do have sponges and stuff down there, some live rock. Instead of cleaning it, I was curious if anyone would put a small fish and light down there. Something like a blenny. Totally random, thoughts?

There really isnt a fish that I know of that eats detritus which is usually what needs to be managed in a sump..
Bristleworms...craps..snails,etc...sure..but not a fish

Yeah makes sense. Was just thinking about it while doing some maintenance on the tank.
