Purple stuff id

Anyone know what this stuff is and of its bad? It's kind of like a hard jelly

Typically not bad at all...it can encrust over other things though sometimes..

It helps with filtering your water, but keep in mind to control it. It can easily grow in between your corals and make them look nasty.
