I'm in Old Saybrook. I'm plumbing the tank right now to make sure all filtration works right and there are no leaks. Then I have to carry it to it's permanent spot and drill holes in the floor for the basement sump.

I have 11 days off around Christmas and I'm going to make that happen.

Awesome build. I was thinking of 400 gal but now that I see how great yours looks I'm contemplating 500 ( 120x32x30)
Question: what size lumber did you use for the tank stand ?

Should of clarified; You mentioned 9.5" LVL What is LVL ? Will 2x10 work?

its a 9.5" microlam..."laminated vaneer lumber" that is manufactured so it is true, perfectly straight. they are used for headers when you take down a wall for example

did some rearranging. sps are doing great. alk up to 8.3, calc at 550, mg at 1380

I started building a frag system in my basement. So far it consists of:

8'x3'x14" tank with a 40 gallon breeder for a sump
vectra L1 return pump with battery backup
2x mp10 circulation pumps
2x radion xr30g4 pro
1x AI sol blue
1x AI prime hd
Apex classic w/ph probe, temp & eb8
2x 300 watt heater
10 gallon refugium w/light
bubble magus curve 5 skimmer

Wow ! Simply stunning man ! I myself love a bare frag tank with frags everywhere ! No sand just glass bottom with lots of colours ! Beautiful work !
