Oops, I stripped all PO4 from tank

Did my dose of seaklear today at 1.5 ml but did not take into effect that this dose takes out .3 of po4, so now I tested and getting the under range error on Hanna ulr. Po4 was at .19 prior.

Did I just nuke my tank???

Depends on what you have in the tank specifically. Honestly I didn't think you could use seaklear in a tank, thought it was just for pools. If your worried of too low po4 causing starvation you could just do a normal size feeding or small one if you just did one.. you don't want to yoyo all around though either.

SeaKlear is fine in saltwater, although it can remove some alkalinity if overdosed.

I would watch the tank, but it likely will be fine. There's not much to do at this point but wait and see. I agree that a bit of food might help if the corals start looking unhappy.

I dropped an extra brine cube in and then spot fed and target fed coral with reef roids, turned of the cheato light and gonna hope the sps don’t stn. Luckily right now, I got rock that leaches po4 a bit so that may in fact help me out.

Wow that seems like a lot of potential
Po4 added. Are you sure your tests are accurate to begin with? maybe it's just that I don't have many fish though lol. You usually don't want rock saturated with po4 to the point it leaches back in my research (which I admit is limited). I do run my tank with a controlled amount of phosphate.06-.04 works well for me not true 0. But you do know your tank best, hope it works out for you!!

I agree, all of that isn’t necessary.

Low PO4 is bad for corals. But only if it is for a extended period of time. As long as you dont continue to strip it, it should be fine.

So everything is doing good. Some sps seem a little upset. Not showing pe extension on a few like before but no stn/rtn on po4 back up around .1. The zero reading could have been a bit off due to Hanna’s margin of error as well.

I suspect that all the animals will be fine. Sounds like a happy ending so far.

Careful with the Seaclear. If overdosed, even dripped into in a filter sock, it can cause a haze on the glass that is hard to remove. Check alk regularly.

What is the “under range error”?

Oh, that indicates that the test sample absorbs less light than the reference or blank. This situation is likely a procedural error rather than an indication of low phosphates. In other words, the test was invalid.
