All SCA aquariums come standard with 3 1in bulkheads unless you request a custom built one.

Here are the pics of the water level with the Synergy Shadow overflow I was asked about a while ago, sorry for the delay. Soul patch was spot on, if there was a eurobrace on the back pane the water level would have been a bit lower in the tank than I wanted. Next step is to move over the small tank inhabitants and rock to the new tank this week. The smaller tank turned into a RBTA dominated tank, only 3 of them but they really grew pretty big and did well. Will give at least one away to another reefer friend on mine when I move them over as I want to try SPS again in a bigger, more stable system (knock on wood).

I built the stand to be a little extra large (height and width). So far I have plenty of room to get in there and work around. We shall see what happens when I get the rest of the equipment in there.

How is quality of the tank and seams? I purchased a 120 gallon a couple of years ago from SCA and it was very nice (except the overflow box). It looks like in the pictures they have redesigned the overflow box. Does anyone have any current pictures of the overflow box?

I just purchased a second hand sca 150. While I have no filled it yet, I’ve inspected all the seams closely with a flashlight and I have zero bubbles anywhere like some have reported

My seams are good. Plenty of extra silicone, no thin areas or bubbles that I noticed like some others have posted pics of. For the price I would buy another tank in a heartbeat based off my experience of 1. Maybe some of the other builders have seams that look "cleaner", but for me not worth 2-3 times the cost (I got several quotes)

My overflow was the Synergy so can't speak to their normal overflow.

Also using a synergy on my next build - what sump is that you are running?

The Trigger triton 44. I wanted a huge refugium, or as big as I could get under my stand. And debating trying the Triton (or similar) method once this tank really settles in about a year from now so wanted that option built in.

looking good Chicago. I wish I had had the patience when I was ordering my tank to wait for his custom. I had sent him the specs for the synergy, flush eurobrace, and no back brace but went with a stock 150 instead. One of the larger pain points for me at the moment looking back.

I will be sure to correct that when I order the next tank...

Just got my quote from Steve for my ~135 gal build (60x24x22) and new rustic style stand, CANNOT WAIT!

Moving into the new house in 3 weeks, and as the tank is a 8-10 week lead time, I plan to pay the invoice very soon.

Already transferred my current 75 once a few weeks ago, looks like it's moving again which will tons of fun (stress) round 2....and hopefully everything stays alive again.

Hopefully you added some custom aspects to the tank like for the synergy overflow, flush eurobrace, no rear brace.

You will love the tank and I am excited to start seeing pics of the new wood stands. Thankfully I have one of the older nice wood stands but there was a spurt there where the stand quality plummeted as Steve struggled to find a new source after the one shop owner retired and closed his business...

My 150 sca in the wall. Tank is cycled now, with a couple clowns and a few cuc.

Really appreciated the customer service from Steve, and the help on this forum.

I just got a new SCA 120, I'm looking forward to building. Do we have any SPS tanks in this thread?

Just got my SCA 150 pre-drilled for a Synergy overflow. Opened up the package and here's what i saw. I'm now sick to my stomach!

Yep, that's both drill holes for the overflow that seems to have either deep scratches or cracks. Of course I can pull off the nice black backing if i wanted to find out. But what does it matter. Who wants this in a brand new tank....

Hope it gets resolved quickly. Did you ask the truck driver to haul the tank away?

Damn...
I opened mine and the guy was very cooperative and just stood there and waited. It only took a few minutes to unpack everything and I used a flashlight to check everything and then signed off.

I did get a response from Steve on Saturday after I sent a few more pictures. He mentioned that they would ship a replacement today. Hopefully this is a case. Unfortunately, my timeline to complete this tank move before I go on vacation is completely squashed. This is a major setback, but hopefully it is worth it in the end. The tank looked great otherwise. Sigh.

So you end up with two tanks? I would trust Steve if he said he’s sending a replacement out. But if it is a scratch you can probably buff it up and use it for something else.
I am actually kind in the same boat time wise because I am still waiting for the 20” overflow from synergy. It has been pushed for a week due to their factory maintenance so I won’t get it until next week. Originally I was planning to get it plumbed this week. Luckily if I have learned anything from this hobby that’s patience. Nothing good happens quickly.

I spoke with Steve and I have to figure out what to do with the extra tank. He is shipping a new one today. I really appreciate this kind of customer service.

I will have to do a deeper inspection to see if it is stress cracks or scratches. I didn't want to touch anything before i got confirmation that a replacement was being sent. Time to pull off the black plastic cover and take a deeper look. I really cannot imagine why there would be so many scratches on the inside of a tank, when it is drilled from the outside. It really seems like it would be cracks.

I actually bought the euro braced version because its drilled for the 16" overflow. I did this because i contacted Synergy, and they implied that it would take 6 weeks to get a 20" overflow built for me. Being that I didn't have 6 weeks to spare.... Now, ironically i am past that 6 week deadline. Yeah, i know that I should know better by now. Nothing happens as expected in this hobby

*Fingers crossed* on the next tank arrival!
