Can plate corals move on their own?

I came back from a 10 day vacation and out plate coral is about 2 or so inches from where it was before I left. Can these guys move on their own or did a hermit or two push it around a little?

Yes, they can move on their own. This is usually why it's recommended to place them on the sand.

Thanks, then I'll just let him stay where he moved to.

yes, they definitely move on their own. I had one by my jawfish a while ago and the jawfish kept spitting sand on it to the point where it moved on its own a good 3 inches away from it
