Strange Behavior During Water Change

During a 45-gallon water change, the system (Renew/Storm) froze up (with 27 gallons having been changed).

On STORM, Monitoring, Sump, and Bin Levels were all flashing, Topping Off was off. I don't recall what Renew was doing, but whatever light was flashing (if any), the system was just sitting there.

I know that when Renew pulls water from the sump, Storm flashes that sump level is low like it normally would when being used for ATO, but the communication cable between the two units prevents the STORM from refilling. In that case, each unit displays that the other unit is detected. In this case, neither unit was indicating that the other was detected.

I hit the reset button and it went back to doing water change, until the refill bin sensor went low. At this point, I pushed the sensor further down into the bin -- there were still several inches of saltwater -- and at this point the Renew system started filling again but draining simultaneously.

Also, the Renew system seems to take a lot longer in Standby mode, after Dispense, than it used to. I tapped the buckets, thinking float switches were hung up, but no effect.

Any clue as to what is going on here?
