Hey everyone so I have been busy with work the past few day but here it is, aquascape done and tank is filled! The water is still a little cloudy and I will take more pics when it clears completely but It is pretty near dead silent. I will get better pics either tonight or tomorrow, as the led from bother the Kessils and the moonlights are washing out my phones pictures. With the lighting coming into play I think it is time to start using the real camera, so no more cell phone pics lol.

So I am having a heater issue, It seems as though my heaters are having an issue keeping the tank at 78 degrees I have one heater in the fuge area and one in the skimmer area and the probe for the apex is reading in the return compartment. I have both heaters set to 79 and the apex is reading just under 77. The heaters are not running constantly they are turning on and off but the tank is just not hitting the mark. I am using 2 200w finnex which should be plenty. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Maybe the heater calibration is off. Have you tried turning them to 80 and seeing if the temp rises to 78? Either that or the temp probe calibration is off and shutting down power to the heaters early. Are you using one heater as a primary and one as a backup? How is your programming set up?

I was thinking it was the calibration but for both to be off would be odd I think it is just gonna take time to get the tank water even to the sump. I assume I am just losing a bit of heat in the main display. I set them to 80 and the temp is running close to 78 now so we will see what happens over the next couple days. 2 200w on a 75 should be plenty of power I would imagine. It is having no issue getting the temp up in the sump, it just wont stay running long enough to heat the tank water quickly. Ill keep you posted. I am pretty happy with the scape now I just cant wait to get some livestock

I had the same issue with my finnex 200watt. Temp was constantly a degree or two below what it's sensor reported, and gave me issues with my controller. I switched over to a sensor less heating element controlled by my temp probes directly. I will probably switch to a jaeger for redundancy though

I was looking at the Finnex heaters for my new set up. I'm doing a 75gal as well. I plan on running 2 150w heaters, one as a primary and one as a supplement/backup. I think typically you set the heater itself to a few degrees over what you want the tank to be and allow the apex to control the temperature. One heater will be the primary and carry the majority of the heating while the secondary heater will kick in if the first can't keep up or fails. That way one heater does most of the cycling with the other getting little use instead of both heaters cyling on/off all the time. Program alarms on either side of the temp to let you know if the temp is too low or too high.

It came with it but i moves them to a different spot then thet are used in order to flush mount it

I've seen pictures of this system over the last few weeks, ran across the build thread today! You've done a wonderful job inside the cabinet. This is my biggest complaint with my current setup. No room!

really love these rimless builds and gotta love that nice cabiet/wire organisation! Aquascape looks great and will be superb when outgrown with corals!!
