Mkart’s 150 long build
In January I decided to get back into the hobby. I previously built in a 220 Sps with a basement fish room to support it. I have been out for about 4 years and decided the new house had a great spot to start again. I am building this one into a basement bar with as much support equipment underneath it as possible. I am dedicating a small space in the unfinished basement but completely separate from the main tank due to distance. I went with a 150 this time since I needed the shallow depth of 18”. I like to build everything I can for fun so lots of projects to keep me interested. To get started I bought a 120g that had much of the equipment I wanted and will sell what I don’t use as I go along.
This is where I started I removed the back bar completely to build it back up from scratch. I moved a few things around and added an exhaust fan I can place on the Apex. Also added outside air connection for my skimmer. Reinstalled the marble and drilled 3.5” holes in it for the plumbing, much easier with a Starrett diamond bit than I thought it would be. I then set the tank and filled it to start the cycle. The plumbing is temporarily going through a Rubbermaid since I have not built my sump yet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

This is my plumbing so far
I am also going to try an algae scrubber. I just looked at pictures online and built something similar. Easy fun project with acrylic. I received the lights yesterday and am just waiting on black thumb screws and need to make a lid. Decided to go with black pipe before gluing anything Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
