I am having trouble with high nitrates at the moment, I have been doing weekly water changes also running GFO but they are still staying around 25-30ppm, sometimes even 40ppm. No really bad outbreaks of anything other than these nitrates.

I'm really thinking of changing my aquascape, I want a more open look. I really like them bonsai type of scape. How would you go about changing aquascape? Can you leave the fish in the tank?
