Smile Transferring Fish

Hey guys, I am buying 1 watchman goby and 4 coral frags tomorrow. I have about a 2 hour drive home with the fish. I was wondering if I should use a bucket with an air pump or just bring them home in the bag... since all the fish I have ever received in the mail have come in a bag. Just wondering what everyone thinks I should use... thanks for all the opinions

Agreed just bring them home in an air tight bag. Would be best to find out what the source salinity is so you can match you qt tank to it. So when you get home you can temp acclimate for 15 mins and put them in. Once you open the bag the clock is ticking. Though you probably know this if they are usually shipped. Good luck!

I just drip acclimate them for an hour then put them in QT tank. Drip acclimation slowly matches the salinity of the water they are in to my tanks water. Haven't tried it on corals yet but I hear it works Thank you

With a long trip I will keep them in a insulated box (or bag that you get from the grocery store). I like to keep the car colder than the fish would like and this reduces the Temp acclimation required by a little.

Bags will be fine, when you get them in the mail they are most likely in the bag for more then 2 hours
