Scotty & Tammy's 4x4x2 SPS tank - Page 18

Yeah it's not very common to use it but I've seen reefs that used it and they look very similar to normal rock, I like the idea of using it as I could get the shapes I wanted and it would cost next to nothing to do. I just finished the scape and it looks so good, couldn't have hoped it would turn out that nice

I'm this tank I'm getting 300 on the sand, 370 middle and 430
at water level Fishy

OK, thats not as much as I tought you would have. Some tanks have 600 or something par at the top.

Nothing is over the top with my tank mate just a simple setup with a simple method. I think it's all about finding that perfect balance

I don't think she would of been impressed with frags even though she loves helping me pack them when I send to mates around Oz

Monique and my son Byron both love to help on the tank it's an awesome thing for them to learn about I think and they are always asking questions about different things

I agree with you Bello, when the day comes that I have my own little one(s) I'll definitely let them help with the tank (hopefully by then I'll have a nice big tank

). As long as Biggles isn't the one teaching them about reefs and nature (how to whack this with sticks)

I think they can learn alot about the ocean and the creatures that call it home. Bello you'll have to tell the fish that if they don't give it back they don't get feed

.

Completely Bello you can't teach nature any better than having nature in your living room! My 7yo son can go into our LFS and name more things and what they do than most adults can

it's honestly one of my favourite parts of Reefing and I'm very lucky to have them take a massive interest in the tank

Watching the kids show so much interest and absorbing so much about the hobby has been a highlight, our eldest has just started a couple of hours a week at a LFS so he can learn more and help dad with tests etc and then one day have his own tank
