thanks alot

i have a room dedicated to coral growout and frags

on this and the other identical system they are tied together and no extra filtration is used, basically i house some live rock and thats about it.

ive kept corals for over 10yrs and have had these systems running for quite some time .

these systems are highend zoanthid and sps dominated mostly.

ive went with the kiss method for the grow systems , so low bioload and regular maintanance and add what i need to as it needs it , over he years we have learned what certain corals respond too.

heres the specs:

2 systems

72 x 30 x 12"h each
4 bulb teklight(kz bulbs) mounted at water level(alot of light) on each system
7 x koralia 1400's( alot of flow) in each system
no sand in either
no carbon/gfo or pellets in sump

i do dose calcium reguarily and alk as we keep alot of hard corals

i also dose amino acids, coral vitalizer and sponge daily , plus the odd reefbooster(prodibio) every few weeks

we do not feed the fish

theres on average about 1500 frags, and colonies to back them up between both systems.

about 150 different types of zoanthids , and a good mix of sps and lps in both.

we spend alot of time growing and propogating corals and aree continuing to add to the ever growing system.

heres some pics:

cheers

some more recent pics of my dual frag systems , one is zoanthid and lps dominant the other is sps with some misc corals.

specs:

dual identical systems

72 x 30 x 12"h each
2 x 60" -4 bulb tek-lights(kz bulbs)
7 x koralia 1400's( alot of flow) in each system
mp40 in zoanthid system
no sand in either
no carbon/gfo or pellets in sump
no skimmer (csc450 to go in when ever i have enough time to clean out the skimmer compartment)
apex controller
tunze ato

he who guards the goodies:P

we have two more systems bing built as we speak for the back of the room each tank is 36 x 30 x 12h and will share a seperate sump , undecided what we are going to do with this but we are thinking colonie grow out as im out of space in the two 6 ft tanks.

i have 2 radion pros i may use on the new systems or i will either do the new ati hybrid or back to a couple of tek lights again

Wow that's a great setup. Do you keep some fish in them for the bioload?

sps system:

bristle tooth tang
melanarus wrasse
scooter blenny
yellow tail damsels x 2
unidentified fairy wrasse
maroon clown goldstripe

zoanthid system:
