Skimmer issue
Cleaned my skimmer ( omega vertex150 )Had it put away for 3months . Set up a new tank and plugged it in and it didn’t work, so I took it apart and noticed some scratches on the impeller. When I put it in the pump with no cap on it spins . Is it the impeller or is it the pump? If it is any of the two where can I get parts if they have been discontinued or should I invest in another skimmer
Thanks

I’d take the pump completely apart, remove the impeller and soak the block and impeller in vinegar for 10 minutes. The scrub the motor inside and out as well as the impeller. Then rinse and reassemble. There is likely some salt buildup that you are not seeing inside the block or inside the bushing that supports the end of the impeller shaft. Any friction in there will cause the motor to not spin the rotor.
