Viparspectra diy mount

Hey y’all,

Just gathering opinions or opportunities for improvement on my light mount. Found a design on another site and mostly followed. Using 3/4” aluminum square to hang the led. Still need to put small bracket on each side that will prevent shifting left to right. Whole thing rests on top of the brs screen kit (on the rim frame, not the screen), which I had to modify to sit entirely on the rim of the tank. It’s a 2’ cube, 60 gallon. The lights are 10” above the water line, which is what the manual recommended for this size tank. Anyone else have a similar setup? Are the lights too high? I’ve seen others talk about removing the “lens” from these, is that necessary? I plan on having a mixed reef. If I can figure out how to upload a picture I will eventually post it. Thanks for any suggestions!
