Thanks for the heads up on the nurse. Even my pool will be too small to house one for life. Forms get pulled tomorrow. Will post pics. Next up is the steel for addition and the digging of the pool.

The forms came off today. Each vertical line that you see in the concrete is 3 ft. All of the walls are 8 ft high off the footer. 90 percent of the walls are building is below grade. There will be a second story on the first, smaller , room.

Looks like you're almost done, put a pane of glass on the one end, cover the interior with epoxy and fill it up

Alprazo,
First wanted to say what a great build this is looking to be. I'm in the process of setting my 240 (8x2x2) there is only rock covering the overflows and a small island in the middle so 70-80% is still open for swimming.I'm using a skimz 201 skimmer (rated for 500+) and have a canister filter if needed. Also a 75 gal sump and a 1/2 chiller and 3 return pumps. The tank will also be hooked to my APEX which will txt me if something goes wrong. I know that this is a smaller tank for sharks but i was wondering if there is one that you would recommend? I have been in the reefing hobby for many year and know how to keep good water and healthy fish. There will be 10 or so other tangs and such going into this tank as my blonde naso has out grown its home now. So future upgrade might bean option but for now this is it.

Side note: I read your sticky in (fowlr) and saw all the food that they eat but I have a question on which vitamains you were talking about? What do you use?

Thank you so much for your time. Looking forward to seeing your shark pool up and running! What are you going to keep in there?

Troy

Thanks Troy.

I would rec the Bali catshark. They are smaller than the coral cat and though recently described, are making their way in greater numbers to the States. There is also a captive breeder in Canada. Benthicsharks.ca. I have seen them appear on Live Aquaria's Diver's Den from time to time. Sometimes they are mislabelled as a coral cat but more recently the ID has been correct. They lack the white spots seen in the coral cat.

Mazuri makes vitamins specifically for sharks. Those are the ones I recommend. The shelf life is about a year so I rec dividing the order between 5 or 6 people. They must be kept dry, sealed away from oxygen, and preferably in the fridge. They grow mold quickly if you are sloppy. http://www.mazuri.com/shark.aspx

The sharks will probably not be moved over until August or Sept I'm guessing.

French drain put in, some moisture board placed, insulating to below the frost line, and back fill done. This week has been all about dealing with the massive amount of dirt. I have not been home while it was light since the weekend before last, hence no new pics. Hoping to see some sun this weekend though.

Why not contact Instant Ocean directly and see if they will let you order it by the palette. There might be some savings in it for you.
