Salifert Replacement 1ml syringe

Seems all my 1 ml Salifert syringes have the ink starting to come off of them. I tried contacting them directly but their website is under construction and can't seem to get a hold of anyone on their FB page. Has anyone found a replacement syringe? I looked on amazon but the ones i looked at didn't have readings to the 10th degree. I'd hate to buy a new test kit just for the syringe but i might have to and just tape the syringe with scotch tape.

Salifert Replacement 1ml syringe

Just go to your pharmacy, they will probably give you a few
Ben doing this for years. You certainly don’t need a brand specific syringe, any one that can measure 1ml will work

But you need a tuberculin tip to use the little red end in the Salifert kit.

Also, BD wasn't available on Amazon (the brand Salifert uses) so I ordered Terumo brand recently. The Terumo brand are so sticky that to get the plunger moving it takes so much force that when it gives, most of the reagent squirts into the sample.

So, in my opinion not just any syringe will do.

What are you ding to rub off the markings? I've used Salifert for many years (like 30 now) and NEVER had that issue.

The scotch tape is not a bad idea, and fwiw - tell the pharmacist what you need them for and I would think they'd give (or sell real cheap) some to you

I'd try asking a pharmacist, too. The tape approach should be fine, too.

I rub them off too. Maybe it's aggressive cleaning, maybe some of us have caustic finger oil. Who knows.

I just bulk order whatever's cheap on Amazon.

+1 works wonders

The markings get rubbed off when water gets onto it and your fingers help to rub the markings off.

Thanks for the replies i couldn't find the slip tip style on Amazon. Also not sure why the markings are coming off it always starts at the 1 ml marking and works its way down. I got 1 replacement from my LFS yesterday and taped it so hopefully that will hold me over for a month or so until i buy new kits.

Our feed store sells them. Small ones up to huge 100ml size. The large ones have the Leur lock fittings.

I have found that pharmacies will not sell you syringes of any sort without a matching prescription..

Or maybe I just look like a heroine addict.. I am skinny

I buy syringes at the feed stores or off Amazon as another users mentioned..

Take the plunger all the way out and a dab of vassoline will fix you right up
