New to Reef Central & New to the Hobby (Again)
Hi all! Just wanted to drop a note for good luck to you all (and myself) that all our tanks be healthy and happy and propagate (as long as they are old enough ) as you please!
Anyway, was in the hobby from 1995/96 until 2008. Hurricanes in 2005 wiped out the house plus about 750 gallons of reef tanks including two beautiful dragon eels along with about 3 dozen different breeds of clams. After two years I started again but before I had a chance to hook up my generator, two more back-to-back hurricanes took out power for about 10 days. Needless to say... .....they were all dead...even the damsels. After 8 years of life and being egged on by friends, I am back! This time I have started small with a little 15 gallon all-in-one nano with a couple percs, soft corals and zoo's. We shall see where this goes! I have to say one thing to you guys and gals who hung in there, YOU ALL have come up with some AWESOME new technology technology. Thanks and hope to see you all on the boards. |

Sorry about your losses and best of luck with your new tank. What kind of equipment are you running on the 15?

Hey Rusty James sorry I didn't reply to you A LONG TIME ago...I think I have suffered one too many concussions.... The only equipment/tank I have for now is the EVO 13.5 gallon "all in one" type setup. I have added a couple circulation pumps and a Zetlight UFO light. About 2 weeks ago I started having major lighting problems so the original LED light strip that came with the tank is back on top.
Come to find out several of the UFO lights' cooling fans blades had been broken since I purchased it. Once we stopped using the air conditioner in the house there was no longer cold air coming from the ceiling vent to the light, it started turning on then cutting off. I was ticked after finding out since apparently there was damage to the fan blade blades since I purchased it. Funny because I was looking earlier for a place on RC that may have info on fixing this thing myself. The light is awesome when it worked but the light cutting off and on apparently freaked out my diamond goby and he ended up jumping through the light diffuser that covered the tank. Anyway that goby didn't make it! |

Even at 13 gallons, it has a lot going on. I just keep that skimmer running clean.
