My Squammy of 5 years had a peice of LR fall on it and put a 1" slice into the mantle. The clam is abour 9". Will it be able to recover from this? I notice that my Y. tang is picking at it

The mantle will heal itself. If the Tang is picking at the mantle the Tang has to go, otherwise it will never heal and lead to further damage upto death.

as ez said the clam should heal on its own. can you pull back and take a photo of the whole clam and resize it to fit the screen. that photo is way too large and way to close up to see anything

Glad to hear that it eill heal itself.

Sorry - I dont have a better picture.

I leaned a piece of egg crate up against the clam were the damaged mantle is, It scares the tangs away, and the clam is fully extended again.

Thanks for the input.
