Innovative Marine 30G
IMG_20180530_143724-01.jpg
20180608_143842.jpg 20180608_143847.jpg My 30 gallon Innovative Marine has been set up since Mother's Day, May 13th. I used CaribSea's Ocean Direct live sand for substrate. My husband and I followed BRS instructions to sterilize my old rock from previous tanks, and then we introduced two pieces of live rock that we purchased from our local saltwater store. I have only one EchoTech radion that we suspended from our ceiling. (This is where hubby and I debated. Two vs one? One seems to cover the tank well, with high and low light spots for different coral. Although I really only wanted soft corals and LPSs). I'm waiting on my VorTech pump before I add the corals. And we only have two snails, two hermit crabs, and a damsel in the tank now. We have an ATO and currently running just the stock filter that came with the tank. Any suggestions or words of wisdom? We're trying to take things slow and do everything the "right" way, but I know the "right" way is different for everyone! Husband last tested the tank's parameters, and forgot to write them down (naturally), but said everything was in normal range. I can add numbers once we retest the water if anyone was interested. We did have a small diatom bloom a few days after adding the cultured rock, and you can still see a little on those rocks, but it seems to have mostly gone away |

Looks pretty good so far. Maybe add a couple of shrooms or zoas to start with?
