Citizen Blue COBS DIY

I recently did a build with these cobs and am pretty impressed with them.

CLU048-1212C4-B455

I ended up getting 8 cobs, 4 of the royal blue, 4 6500k 90cri, along with 2x meanwell hlg185-1400, and 4 pin heatsinks for around $250. I previously had 4x hydras over my 220 and it was pitifully insufficient even at 100% on all channels. This could be another option for those willing to DIY, as you can get a 4 light setup for less than the cost of Chinese black boxes. I've had kessils before and these are much more bright. No more paying an arm and a leg for what is pretty simple. If you do some digging you will see these are much more efficient, if you drive them under 1400ma, you can get as high as 70% efficiency, save a bit on electric costs.

I dont have the best comparison pic as the one with the cobs have the whites turned all the way down.

with 4x hydras

4 lights, 2 cobs per heatsink

Working great, they need to be turned down otherwise they burn. If I were to do it again I'd do 2:1 blue to white instead of 1:1. I placed the white and blue cobs on a round pin heatsink. Cheap way to get your tank lit.

So you are running them at 1400ma and still need to turn them down?

Any chance I could get a pick of your build/setup on this light.

I have been thinking about changing my LEDs to the COBs but dont really know how I am going to go about it it make it look right.
