octopus ID
I was diving last Wednesday and while unloading the live rock out came crawling an octopus.....but not the usual gulf dwarf mercatoris, as it is twice the size that they usually are..about 10 inches tip to tip...although colored similar ....and does not appear to be a vulgaris....never seen one like this in 40 years of diving...is happily hanging out in a system and munching the crabs I put in with it...any ideas on an ID ...came from the Gulf about six miles off the coastline of tarpon springs...

Could it be briareus? They can get fairly large.
