How about a Bali Black cap Picasso, P1.
I also have one that looks similar to your larger one pictured above.
Thanks. I'll PM you if I decide to go with a Picasso.

Or, you could pick it up and sell it once you find something better.
That's good info. Thanks for sharing. The tank raised onyx has been at the store for several weeks now and was marked as "sold" on two occasions. However, nobody every took him home.
I found a small wild Onyx at a different store. However he had frayed fins and some white patches. I'll check tomorrow to see if the clown's condition improved. If it did then he might end up being a mate for my current Onyx clown…which, based on her size, is a female or a very very large male.

I went ahead and got the tank raised Onyx clown. His tail might also turn black as he matures.

They paired up already and the wild Onyx female did not beat him up too bad. I am still amazed how orange she is...the most orange A. Percula I have ever seen. You can see the contrast compared to the tank raised onyx clown next to her.

I would not have introduced then until the wild one has totally gone through QT. The immune system of tank raised clowns might not be as developed as the wild ones and it might catch something from the wild one that is not showing symptoms... I would suggest running both on a CP regimen for two weeks. Starting with a low dose.

Both are good looking fish. Congrats!

These are the two I picked up last.

I know what you mean about the nice orange color. This Bali P1 I have really stands out.

Another I sold.

Thanks. This is something I debated before pulling the trigger. The tank raised ate really well at the store but was looking skinny. He looked like he needed to go through Prazi. Since I was doing a water change and redosing the medication I took the chance of introducing it yesterday instead of waiting. It was somewhat of a risky decision.

The above female with black tail was paired with the male that is in the chamber behind her when I got her. Starting today I'm switching her male to the Helmeted P1. Hopefully that goes smooth.

The wild onyx clown is still doing great and eating like a pig. The goal is to have medication free tank by this weekend. The tank raised onyx is eating but he is still skinny. The clowns have not bonded yet. They are more in a "tolerate each other" zone right now, which is fine.

They look good with each other though. The colors complement each other.

Thanks. I got the male for exactly that reason, it's black color to make sure if the clowns have babies they will come out onyx instead of regular true percula

Did any of those percs come from Tong's? I picked up 2 true percs from them last week, I think one is coming down with brook cause it started showing white patches on one side of its body.

Hey buddy. Sorry to hear. Yeah the surviving clown came from them but I picked it up before it hit the store's system. I had seen many of their clowns were in poor shape but some looked ok. Best of luck and let me know if you need to bounce off some ideas about treating them.

I got a new wild caught Onyx clownfish from Solomons today. It went through a 55 min formalin bath at 2.5 ml per gallon. I measured the clown and he/she is 2.25 inches. It's either a mature male or a younger female. Time will tell when I try to pair her up with my other wild onyx clown.

I trust you when you say it, but are you 100% sure it's a wild clown? The misbar on the third stripe has me wondering. Given the size, it should've grown in already. The angle of the head in the photo makes it hard to tell if it's slightly deformed, but I'm guessing it's just the photo.

Yes, 100% wild. They had some crazy misbar regular true perculas and onyx clowns that I was very tempted to get but decided against it. All of them were wild. It's amazing how many misbar true perculas there are in the wild but not Ocellaris.
Here's a video of a true percula in the wild that has the same misbar on its tail area. It's the first pair in a purple tip magnifica.

And here's a screen shot of it

And here are some true perculas with unusually wide white bars also in the wild. Notice very little black in them.
