The PB & Achilles get along pretty good but there is a good size difference between them at the moment. The orange shoulder is actually the boss (strange) but him, the coral beauty & clown fish was all that was left from my old system after failure so he kinda got used to being the boss.

I'm worried about the sohal when he gets bigger.

After a month or so of everything being in the tank together, I noticed that my sohal tang is hiding in a hole in the rock. Upon further inspection after replacing the nori, I witnessed my coral beauty harassing him pretty bad & he went to hide. Is this normal? Anything I can do to help? They did pretty good at the beginning but now I guess not do much.

You could try watching the CB to see where he likes to hang out and then move the rockwork around a bit. That will disrupt everyone's territory and might make it easier for the sohal to find its own ground.

Well I don't know what happened overnight with the sohal. I had to remove him from the DT. When I caught him he was swimming lethargic like--downward spirals & back flips & upside down. I think the CB was picking on him cause he was easy target. Yesterday he was swimming around & eating like he had since I got him a month ago. Any ideas?? I have him in hospital tank now but don't really know what to medicate with at this point. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello all. Well I finally had time to move my furniture around the house to expose my tank. Now I have a nice sitting room!!!
Also got some supplemental lights to go along with my halides--went with 4, AI hydra 52 hd's.

That bowfront sure is a show-stopper!

I generally don't care for bowfront on smaller tanks,
but it is very dramatic and appealing on this larger tank.
Looks great for viewing.

Just beautiful. I agree with dave.m and Lytehouse the bowfront gives it that extra edge

CD's upgrade!!!

Well I’ve been pretty busy with life, work & such & haven’t been able to update this. It’s been about a year now-I know, pretty sad. Anyway, it’s been going pretty good with the tank overall. Upgraded my calcium reactor, just ordered a new skimmer & adding some more to my CUC. Have some decent grown on some of my frags & others have kinda stalled out but overall I guess I can’t complain. Here’s a few crappy pictures from a few months ago.
FTS
Right Side
Middle
You guessed it...Left side

It could always be better but it’s doing ok.

Happy reefing everyone.

Nice tank. How do you like the gyre on the right side in the vertical position? I have a pair in my 210 but placed horizontal and I've not found a decent flow pattern yet. Your tank looks nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I have the gyre on the right vertical because of my rock tower that’s right in front of it. I have the top flow pattern coming in front towards the glass with the bottom going behind the tower. My reasoning behind this setup was I wanted to get some movement behind my big rock there kinda in the right corner, the big one. It seems to be working out for me this way. My only complaint is that the gyre on the right moves about half as much water as the one on the left. I’m not sure why, they are set up the same but it seems like one motor is stronger than the other.

CD's upgrade!!!

So I got my new skimmer last weekend. Lifereef VS3-72. Had it all plumbed and running Saturday afternoon. It’s been 4 days and I’ve already emptied the cup twice, working on a third.
I’m not sure if this thing is a beast or if my old skimmer was just missing that much.

Amazing! I've been considering this very skimmer myself. Can you post a video or some more in-depth pics?

I will try to get some this evening when I get home from work, if not tonight this weekend. I can say after the first 5 days I’m really impressed. I just have it set up normal but there are a few other ways to set it up. Great customer service too!!! So far I’m really impressed with it.

This is PERFECT -- thank you! If only Lifereef had the same quality pictures -- they would sell 3x as much!

Lmao. Glad it worked for you since I couldn’t get you the video. I know it’s only been 1 week today that I’ve had it running, but so far I’m very impressed and glad I switched.

Just call Jeff and ask, he will send you some. I have one of his smaller skimmers that I bought back in 2000. Still working great - they are really great products.
