Murky Water ??????

Well for the past couple of weeks my water has been cloudy, today it woke up green/yellow. I just did a 15g water change 2 days ago, so whatver its going thru should be over soon i would assume.

Well today i went and got one of those regular fish filter that hopefully the carbon and filters will clear it up.

Also put a different Heater on it and a thermometer to make sure the temp was correct.

What do yall think ???

Hmm that's got to be nerve racking. Have you tested the water? Ammonia nitrite and nitrate? Perhaps it's an algae bloom. I'd probably turn the lights off if possible. Post test results maybe give us more of clue

run it through a filter with carbon... i use the marineland activated carbon at petsbarn in my freshwater tank, and it clears it right up within like an hour... the cheapy carbon sucks

I had that with one of my tanks and a UV sterilizer fixed it up in 2-3 days. I never had the problem again.

Man, thats tough. Its a little off the wall, but can you get live rotifiers? That looks like what they WANT to live in. They would likely die off as they cleared the green, which might put you in the same spot if you didn't harvest them, but it seems like it might be worth a shot before throwing in the towel on the tank.

Thanks, yeah well for now i just ordered some cheap uv sterilizer, and today the water is less green but still cloudy and i can see im losing some corals. Gonna see what uv does and get her back in shape to maybe sell the whole thing to start a real tank.

thanks man, let me figure this out real quick, and see what the heck. Ordered new RO/DI filters and everything even new membrane, my tds was showing around 4 or 6, but i didnt think that would be a big deal. IDK, wanna see what UV does and probably part with the setup, also i want to probably remove the sand. Ive heard if ph is off it can disintegrate the sand and i have that tiny tiny fine sugar sized stuff.
