Pool Filter?
i have been perusing the local auction sites and see lots of unused pool filters (sand and canister) and was wondering if any one has used anything like this? i have an established fish only with live rock and am wanting to transition to corals.
Just wondering. thanks, Mark |

Keep in mind that a sand filter isn't very fine, easily as high as 40 micron. Also, unlike a DSB or RDSB it should not become anoxic so it won't be doing much more than a filter sock. If this is still the goal, just a mechanical filter sock equivalent, then sure it will work, and i believe many public aquariums use them for that reason (but they feed a lot more than us).
