So nice! What are you feeding the BTAs? And spot feeding?

I've been soooo lazy lately. When I feed them it is PE mysis shrimp, cyclopeeze and golden pearls. I haven't fed them much lately. If I don't feed them for months, hot pink BTA's look cool too. The BTA's like anything---even Spectrum pellets. If I make them special food like Eric's recipe, things might look a little better but not that much different. My theory is grow what does well and forget what doesn't!!

Thanks again.

Hey Mona,

Very awesome pick up on the BTA. In the picture above, did you mount your scolymia on the rock, or did you just place it without any mounting?

One but it does not look like that one. It is a red base with greenish tentalcles. Mona got my favorite one !

They are from Africa and seem to be by my observations and from what I was told by my shipper that they are MUCH easier to care for than the magnificas from Indo or other areas.

I've got some strong current near the BTA's but the clowns sleep in the calmer anemones.

The current is strong enough to throw the clowns around.
I recorded the video with my phone so the quality is low but you get the idea.

Another picture taken at night after the lights have been off:

I figured out how to use photobucket:

Beautiful tank, and new Magnifica!

Your tank has inspired me sooooo much. I bought four Perculas, and I'm pairing them up now. I hope to breed them and stock my new 250gl (when its up and running) with some of the offspring. The whole left side of the tank will be dedicated to R&GBTA's. Of course my Mag will be on an island in the center and the Gigantea on the right. The Haddoni will be in the back, center. If my tank turns out half as nice as yours I will be thrilled.

elegance coral, sounds like you have a plan! I've learned a lot from your H. Magnifica thread. It's nice having anemone action on both sides of my tank. The left side used to have fishapenia.

All those RBTAs on one side makes me think that's going to happen to my softy tank... maybe I'll turn it into an anemone tank as well, although I totally would want more clownfish than the two I got.

Brewman12er---cyclopeeze from a Eheim feeder feeds everyone.
sfsuphysics---come over to the dark side. before adding the mag, the anemone side was so much more interesting than the left side. a lot of movement plus the plus constant change with inflation/deflation, etc.

pic with flash:

Your tank is looking great! Mine are still doing strong too and the red BTA that I got from you is now two large ones.

What kind of lighting are you running btw? I'm trying to figure out why the anemones are so much happier in my 29 than my dad's 90.

3x400W XM SE bulbs plus 2x160W Super Actinic VHO's.

I have a RBTA in a stock 29 Biocube that looks pretty good though it looks more hot pink than rose. But shape and behavior wise it acts the same as the ones in the big tank.

Does my SPS look familiar? The dark green with blue tips all came from your frag.

I think the Gold tipped BTA from Amazon Pets wasn't getting enough light in the Biocube so I moved it to the 210:
