Dear Matias !

thanks very much for yr reply and I am still very impressed with the colors you have with all yr corals !! I was under the impression that you have installed Metal Halides or the natural sun lights in yr tank. Did you read the water parameters to check the quality of the water.
Again congratulations from Panama !!!

Regards
Fernando Chang

Matias !

another question, what kind of maintenance you do ? how often you change the water ? if natural sea water or you prepare the water.
By the way do you speak spanish ?

Regards
Fernando (Panama)

I just see the density and PH, I have not the other tests at home.
I speak Spanish, but not write, I make a partial change every 30 days to 150 liters, direct use of sea water to get in front of my house.

Matias !

thanks for yr reply appreciated. Very interesting that you only measure the PH and the density and using the natural sea water in yr partial change of water.
Need to know the following:
When the first time you collected the rocks from the sea, I saw the photo that you cleaned the rocks with a pressure hose. when you finish the cleaning, did you put the rocks immediately in the tank ? or you wait sometime to do it. The reason I am asking you because I am planning to change some rocks, and also cleaning the same using the pressure hose too.

Regards
Fernando (Panama)

the best way is with a washing machine of water pressure, after that you will wash them straight to the reef, but the rocks here after we have washed and brought to the reef, eventually forming a layer that resembles a mold or fungus, not clear that advanced the other day was again formed, it just disappeared after about 7 days, the best way would wash and return to the sea and withdraw after 10 days, but should place them in a canvas bag, not to fill the crabs.

I hope you managed to express myself with google translator

Matias, thanks again yr advice. Understand after you washed yr rocks you placed them in the sea with a canvas bag for about 10 days. Unfortunately I am too far from the sea, what I will do is to place the rocks after cleaned inplastic container with salt water for about 10 days with an air stone.

Regards
Fernando

also will work, and if you can put the program plus one tablet in the water to kill all the crabs. the problem is that you will lose all small crustaceans that form the reef as well, but what good will it get rid of a bunch of pests.

Matias, but by doing the washing with the pressure machine hose you kill all the pest ? or do you need further treatment with the tablet ? what tablet please ?

Regards
Fernando

Hi Fred, when will you post your tank here on RC?
I think all the project and development of your current tank will fit well here, a lot of information to the guys and maybe one or two tips you could get from them.
Best wishes!
