Startup Tank for Son - need RO Unit suggestion

Hello.

I have been out of the hobby for 5 years and am setting up a 75gl for my son. I am looking for suggestions for a basic RO unit for water. This is a new 75gl tank setup. Any suggestions would be much appreciated...thanks

Spectrapure(.com) has a lot of options.

The ro buddie will not offer the same performance as a full sized unit.
If you water is relatively clean (low tds) with very low amounts of chlorine/chloramine treatment applied to it then it may be acceptable.. Make sure you factor in the cost of filters when evaluating cost...

Pretty much you get what you pay for. Unless you buy used.

So..should I be ordering with a 1 micron sediment and 1 micron carbon?..they all seem to vary with the cartridges included...also..for a beginner...is the TDS and PSI gauge suggested?

Thanks!

I have always relied on Russ at www.buckeyehydro.com for all of my rodi needs. Excellent product, unbeatable customer service, very competitive prices, and a Ohio company.

I ordered mine on a Saturday after spending about an hour on the phone with him - and he called me - not the other way around, to answer the questions I had. I got it that Monday. He ended up saving me nearly $200 once he determined what I actually needed vs what I thought I needed. I don't look anywhere else for replacement parts either. I feel he has more than earned my business.
