I know the feeling sir, I sold my maze face blueline since its nipping on my acropora. Lost my red carpet because my Xmas island emperor and scribble angel was eating it.

But I will keeping my large angel... As I love fish better than corals.

I like both fish & corals but I am partial to corals a bit more. That said I very well may still have had my angels if it wasn't for the velvet I got a couple of years ago and wiped out 50 + fish.

This Duncan colony is about the size of a cantalope - a stubby branch variety that grows in a big ball. Kind of cool.

What lighting system do you have on your DT? Everything looks Great!

Thank you.
Lighting is comprised of the following:
in the front half - 5 Pheonix DE MH 14K bulbs (250w x 3 & 150w x 2)
in the rh front corner is a radion LED fixture (recently lost a MH pendant and replaced with LED)
in the rear half of the tank is a mix of 12 x 48" T5 bulbs (actinic, pinks, super blue, daylights)
I also have 3 x Reefbrite 3 watt blue LED fixtures running length wise across the center of the tank which runs from about 7 AM until midnight daily. (I figure a little extra supplemental LED lighting can't hurt.)
In my opinion this lighting mix gives me a good balance, with MH in front I still get some shimmer while the T5's smooth things out.
Thanks for looking.

green dragon

This coral is rapidly turning into one of my faves. It is getting a really vibrant green with some blue & pink hues near the growth ends but can't seem to capture very well it on camera. For reference the colony is about 8" across.

Dragon Pipe

I really like these fish, inexpensive - look cool and do surprisingly well in a high flow sps tank.

Sorry for the type-o. I was distracted by my grandkids who are visiting and typed in my grandson's name.

The tank is amazing. Are the pipefish used for maintenance meaning for red bugs or AEFW?

Thanks for the compliment.
Regarding the pipefish, I think they add some interesting character to the tank and as far as I know they mainly hunt for pods (haven't had red bugs for many years now - knock on wood).
I am not sure they will eat AEFW, have you heard anything on this you can share?
Whether they do or don't, I guess they are like chicken soup for a cold -might not help but can't hurt.

On the a.awi colony there seemed to be a blackish line running up through the center of the skeleton. Anyone know what would cause that? Is it some sort of desease? I have seen it before on a few colonies I had several years ago and I lost them as well.

I wish I could tell you more. I read on another build thread that they used them for acropora maintenance.
