window type AC units?????
hello everyone
ive been checking out some threads and seen people with window AC units through walls in there DT rooms and in the future i will be building my next tank in wall as well my question is this: does it really make a huge difference to go with one of these instead of a very expensive chiller? i mean how much lower is your systems water temp with just these units? my next system will be at least 320 "220 RR" unless i go bigger which will be 340"240 long RR" total water volume including basement sump 125 gal "i have now" my lighting will be around 1800 watts and if i go with the 340 it will be around 2200 watts MH's/VHO's

I think a chiller is better for the tank. you would need to run the as unit all day long to keep it cool with the lighting that you are planning

I run a window AC unit in my display room for 2 reasons: First, I live in an old house that does not have central air lol, the second is that they are much cheaper then chillers and vent the warm air and humidity out of the house and not blow it right back into the room like a chiller.
