I'm hesitating between Turbelle Stream 3 or maxspect fx250 for a 5' 125g mixed reef.

I had two JBO pump and they both died, I want to replace them with something better and why not a best water movement. Thanks

They do different things. The Tunze will create random (mostly) movement. The gyre just create a static gyre flow. If I had to pick just one, it would be the random - more dead spots with static flow.
BTW - I have Tunze pumps that are more than a decade old with just a cleaning ever three or four years. I have been really happy with them. If you are on a budget, check out Aquamedic EcoDrift. They are between the cheap chinese patent-stealing stuff and the really expensive stuff. I imagine that they will last somewhere inbetween too. I have a few and they have been good so far, but they are not even close to being old enough to consider them reliable like a Tunze or Ehiem pump. |
