How we got rid of hair algae completely

So we've been trying to get rid of the hair algae in our tank for 6 months. Trimming it, changing the water, changing RO filters and nothing worked.

We noticed that our Black Hawaiian Trigger had some cloudy eye and we started a treatment of Seachem Paragard.

Within 4 days, the hair algae was COMPLETELY gone. Like completely. Not a trace left.......!

We didn't change anything else so we're intrigued to see if anyone else has had a similar amazing positive experience getting rid of hair algae with a reaction to the Paragard?!?
