New Reef/Amazon dual setup in Westport, CT

Ground up start on two tanks. I have an abundance of experience, but none in past ten years. Happy to see the technological progress in our hobby since then. Equipment list -

Reefsavvy ghost overflows.
LifeReef sump, refugium, protein skimmer, and wet dry filter, with filter media cansisters in each.
Custom algae scrubber on reef tank.
PVC hard plumbing
Apex controller
GHL Mitras lighting. 4 LX7200 on reef, and 3 LX7206 on freshwater

Nice to see a local rocking a new build! You should check out Area Reef Keepers of Southwest Connecticut (ARKSC). Lots of friendly, experienced reefers with very impressive tanks to bounce ideas off of, talk shop and swap frags. Working on setting up another get together in August or September.

Nice set up! I'm redoing my whole system, it's a 65 SPS tank. I am rebuilding my canopy to hang the reefbrite halide led combo, getting custom sump, from Geo's Reef, all ghl doser and maybe controller.. can't wait to start my build thread!

Those Mitras sure are sexy! What kind of coral do you plan on stocking?

I plan on doing LPS which I have successfully kept in the past. I likely will experiment with SPS, which would be new for me.

Nice. I ran planted tanks for years before moving exclusively to reefs. Still miss them.

Took delivery of second phase of TB Saltwater live rock plus the clean up crew. Very difficult to aquascape - clearly - without taking rock out of the water - I was hoping for something more artistic, but this will have to do for now. Also got a live stream going so I can monitor 24x7 remotely, which is most of my time.
