Mike is there anything you do to keep the humidity down in that room with such a large tank?

Humidity is a minor problem most of the time. My lovely bride likes to keep the house quite cold, so the A/C runs a lot in the summer which keeps the humidity down. When it's dry in the winter, we keep the windows open, so that keeps humidity down. It during the damp, cool times of year when it's noticeable.

In the interest of saving floor space, I installed a shelf over my 2 stage Calcium reactor for my GFO reactor and Carbon reactor. Thanks Joe (poknsnok) for the idea. Obviously, I need to instal some form of safety strap for the reactors and the CO2 bottle. I planted my 205 lb. butt on the shelf and it held.

I also made some acrylic hanging brackets for my blue acrylic panel that goes on the outside of the back of the tank. I cut some strips and molded them with a heat gun.

Then a little Weld-On.

Attached to the blue panel.

Very cool idea...I have heard complaints about in wall builds and visibility problems when working from the back, that solves that problem and makes color changes more possible. I wonder if you can get blue on one side and black on the other? Reversible would be great.

I wanted the blue, because the overflow boxes are the same color.

I found that the pumps and OM-4ways had to be cleaned very regularly to keep the calcium from building up.

I added some more rock and corals today. I haven't decided on the final location for all the corals yet.

Thanks Tbduval, any pics of yours on RC???

I did some more plumbing today, connected the salt water and RO/DI water from the garage to the tank and started the plumbing for my ATO container, and built a manifold for my reactors. I will have GFO, Carbon, and a Calcium reactor. All are from my 390.

Never started a build thread and my tank has been 3 years in the making! I may start one, one day. What is that thing on the manifold, next to the union, that goes at an angle?

That's the finest check valve known to man. It will keep my Carbon and GFO from backing up into the water supply hose when the power goes out. I have a couple of them on my system.

Thanks nrsj, the blue was supposed to look more like the Tampa Bay Rays blue, but came out a little light.

The build looks great. Have you noticed any shadowing with the black plastic bracing used on the Marineland tank with the three MH you are using?

Thanks!

Thanks Bobby. No shadowing. I have the three lights centered between the braces. I have DIY 14 inch reflectors. I'm going to make 3 more, this time 20 inch for better coverage front to back.

You are adding 3 more light or just making 3 bigger reflectors?

If you get rid of the current reflectors you are using, let me know, I would be very interested in them. Thanks! Do you have all the coral in the tank yet?

I'll let you know about the reflectors.

I moved some more corals into the 300 this past weekend. I still have a couple dozen pieces that I have to figure out what to do with.

looks great man!.. but why do you need gate valves and true union ball valves on your manifold? Wouldnt one or the other work fine? Or are you using the ball valve just for on/off purposes and the gate for fine adjustments?
