Typically deep waters seem to prefer lower light, I keep them in about the amount of light I give Montis.
Some people really like lighter coloration though and they will place them up higher. Whiskey

I keep my Lokani, Dragons, Echinata, Granulosa, Rosaria, etc. up to about 350 PAR under MH... which is about 400 with LEDs since they have more blue, purple and IR that the PAR meters don't catch. They can do quite well down to 200.
What is amazing is that CITR Red Dragon will thrive in a frag tank under 800 PAR and also do OK at 200 with less growth. The deepwaters don't get as much love as some kinds, but they are amazing corals wit some of the best colors. |

We need some updated pics, I love the smooth skin / deep water acros.
~320 PAR mix LED and T5's.

All of these are at the 250 par range under Blue+ and Coral+ T5. I get good growth and color.

The joker is nice but purple and green are somewhat common colors, the growth form is different though, anyone know what species that is? The caroliniana I have never seen with pink tips and the body color is a little different too. Very cool!

Here is the Battle Coral money shot-- joker by Big E 52, on Flickr I need to take a better picture of my colony as the pic I posted is at a weird angle from above. ------------------------------------------------- The Yellow Caroliniana isn't hard to find, just look for the yellowish coloration that extends throughout the whole coral and that branch/coralite structure. I wouldn't focus on those tips as that's a macro shot color that you can't really notice unless your right on top of the coral.
