Finally got this beast full of water!!
Only thing moving water tonight is my return pump. Tomorrow after work I'm gonna try to get mp40's & gyre's hooked up and running along with my protein skimmer. But atleast water is moving!!

SCORE!!! An electrician buddy of mine came over this afternoon & wired me in 2-20 amp breakers specifically for my tank. 1 is for the lights & a few outlets the other is for outlets under the tank. Had him wire 2 outlets under tank to switches. 1 for return pump & the other is for the skimmer. No more unplugging for maintenance, just flip a switch!!!
Also moved 150 gallon tank into garage so I can attempt drilling it tomorrow. Hopefully it goes good & I don't shatter the glass. I'm going to use a new 45mm diamond hole saw I purchased. Fingers r crossed.

Well the tank didn't break on me, so I was able to drill my hole & do the plumbing for my refugium. 20161120/9400f02db54a58f54ecfdd8ca684a2d8.jpg[/IMG]
Now I'm going to build a stand to go over refugium to hold my water mixing tanks.
It is pretty nice to have an abundance of outlets to use rather than power strips.
I have a brand new Reef Keeper Elite somewhere that I was going to use on my current tank but never did. Going to locate it & try to figure out how to use it. Hopefully it's pretty simple.

Kessil makes some grow/plant specific LEDs if that's your style.. D2Mini used a halide specifically built for that over his macro on his 220 build... Generic "plant/grow" LED panels (Mars aqua and others) that seem to have good wavelengths out there too.

It's finally about time....took 5 days for the tank to clear up after sand, rock & water. Temp is up to 78.4.
Hopefully I can transfer everything from my current tank to new one tomorrow!!

I got the stand built for my mixing station & got it all plumbed together. 100 gallon fresh & 40 gallon salt.
It's all starting to come together!!!

Thanks iced. Will definitely check into some fuge lights. Probably going to go with 2 separate fixtures rather than 1 long one.

That tank is going to look very smart once it is up and running. Not too sure about that couch in front of it, though. The couch should be turned around facing the other way, I think.

Dave. M... lmao. . Yes the couch is goin to the basement and will be replaced with a couple of chairs to kinda make it a formal sitting room as soon as you walk in the house. I've kinda turn the front room into a fish exhibit!!

To have my wife's support throughout this project has kinda been a good gift. I have a long Christmas list to present to her once I figure out which is highest on the priority list!!! . Lol

Today was a pretty productive day...I got everything transferred. Fuge is up & running, just gotta get some lights & macro in it. But I'm sure all the bacteria from sand & rock from my old setup won't hurt anything. Hopefully it still looks good come morning.

I'm not seeing how the water is going from your fuge to your tank, is it a siphon? If so, what's to stop it form overflowing if your return pump fails? it looks like all the water would overflow from the fuge

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Vikinglord--my fuge is fed by one of my overflows on that side of the DT. There are 2 ball valves to control the water-either to the fuge or to the sump. It then enters the fuge on the far side. The return part of the fuge is a homemade baffle of a sort to keep macro from leaving then gravity fed into return portion of sump. So if the return pump fails there will be no more water introduced into the fuge. dont mind the wires. entering the fugereturn gravity fed baffleback to sump by return pump.

Well it's up & running.
Now definitely time to restock. Between a bigger tank & the loses in my old tank, this new set up is pretty empty. But atleast what livestock was left is doin pretty good in the new environment.

Thank you. Still have a lot of work to do but the holidays are slowing down my progress. When are y'all moving & is your wife still on board with your build?

Haha. She says she is still on board as long as it is out off the way and it's automated whenever I travel. It was supposed to be February but now looks like we'll be moving around May.
