Email Dave of Nanobox Reef and see if he’ll sell you some of his 6-up driverboards...

Didn't he freely publish the PCB fabrication (gerber) files or Eagle or other design files?
If so you can get them made yourself from online PCB vendors. Itead is my favorite but they tend to take a few weeks to get due to shipping from China..

O2 Surplus is a forum member. I would suggest sending him a PM. He hasn’t been active on the forum for a handful of months but he may be seeing his PM’s.

Sorry.. thats all I found..... Might be time to just change the way its all running..
Or just fix what you have.. Not sure the extent of the lightning damage but maybe its just a section of that board like the bluefish or whatever which can be replaced.. Got pics of the lightning damage or whatever.. Maybe we can walk you through a repair/diagnosis of what you have..

First, thanks for your trouble! I should probably explain exactly what happened to the PCBs. My fish room is ventilated with a 4 inch duct which is located in the ceiling above the tank. Lightning knocked down a tree which fell against the upper part of a gable where the exhaust from the duct is directed. This destroyed the duct cover flaps. This let in the rain which was coming down very hard (Florida). Rain ran down the duct pipe and fell on a ventilator (used to help cool the tank). The ventilator spread the water droplets over the PCBs. One in a million - and it happened to me. Here's a pic (average for all boards): Funny but, every board looks about the same - LDD1 was the main hit. Notice that some areas are rusted. That happened within 1/2 hour! As you can see, it doesn't look repairable which is why I'm desperate to find out if Aaron published files.

Thanks for all the time you spent oreo. Nothing matched up. I've spent two 14 hour days searching but no luck. I did find an image of an Eagle(?) file for the board but, no source data.

For pin out, I was meaning which pin connects to what on the board. I guess I can take one of my working ones offline and try and figure it out. Geeez - I wish O2Surplus was still around.... or even a copy of the Gerber files |

Wish I could be of more help but, it's not really possible to tell where the pins connect. Good luck to you.

Well - I guess it's about time that I byte the bullet and try some other way of restoring my lights.
Here's what my lights look like: Notice (at the bottom right of the PCB) there is a BlueFish Mini attached. It is only on the first board. The rest of the boards are daisy chained to the first, thus giving BlueFish control to all PCBs. I'm wondering if it's possible to replace the PCBs with 6-up LDD driver boards. My problem would then be attaching the Bluefish Mini controller to the multiple boards in a daisy chain - so to speak. Does anyone know if this is even possible? If so, any ideas about how to go at it?

So to put you at ease... Its absolutely possible and quite easy... The manual for the bluefish gives the ribbon cable pinout... Its simply a matter of connecting the PWM and GND wires of each output channel to the dimming inputs on the LDD devices... Should be drop dead simple stuff... and you could get by using the existing power supply you have and discrete LDD modules.. You don't even need a N-up LDD board if you don't want to...

hooking a BF mini to LDD's is easy Only outputs the PWM signal..and multiple LDD's PWM wires can be parallel attached to a channel.. Replace UNO w/ BF Need a separate circuit for fans though... |

I hope I do not get in trouble posting on here but I figured you need help.
Aaron is battling cancer. I talked to him once a month but have not heard back in three months. Praying for the best. You will not be able to find this driver board as I think it was the last one he made and did not share the open files. The board I have is very close to this. Fan control, Bluefish plug, etc. Contact me like the above guy stated. It maybe the only part close. -Dave

mcgyvr & LQT - thanks. You're making me feel better already. At this point, however, I'll have to show quite a bit of my newbie side. I understand how to hook up one 5-up (5 LDDs on a board - 1 for each controlled channel) driver board to the BlueFish but, how do I attach 5 more 5-up boards? Is my question making making any sense?
