How do we in the USA go full DSR chemicals? Is Deltec going to distribute the remaining chemicals?

I may hope to know something about growing corals. At this moment the mayority of dutch reefers and LFS are following my guidlines. Many LFS are now succesfull keeping their sps frags flourishing.

It can best be described as learning the essentials how to mix a working reefsalt. Once you know this, you start looking how to keep it perfect in a live surrounding. You learn the dynamics and learn how to apply the given tools (calculators, procedure and baseproduct).
Next is to start automation to keep things stable.
It's all about spending time to make you succeed with your passion.

I have walked (still walking) that route with all obstacles. I documented it doing so made it easier for others to do the same with less effort.

Once you managed a proven maintenance system by following the right rules, procedures and using proven technics (especially lighting) in see no reason why you can't keep SPS/Acropora's

I don't think i need to prove any more than i have already done by now.

While most were sceptical, i have proven consistant performance throughout the years without waterchanges.

I really don't know...
DeltecUSA is a own entity who decide themselves when it's time to.
I guess they wait for the reefers to aquire it first.
It's quite a extensive range for any retailer or LFS to stock.
This happens when reefpassion become work.
The new production facility since april 2020

Are you still using your own salt? That is sure a lot of stuff to dose. Also, lots of testing and number chasing to get everything in line?

Yes of course, i can find any reasons to abandon the system that working just fine for me.

The basic system a has evolved into a "EZ" dosing system, which involve a baseline dosing and less testing, but still using the same phylosophy that devine the DSR system.

Just visit the website for more details.

Sadly advancedaquarist.com got taken over by reefs.com and they seems to have canceled a lot articles.

The RH archives (2014) seems to have an issue with security certificated.
But the PDF file can be download with the link below.

What happens if you throw a supposedly dead goniopora in the garden and let it stand all summer in all weathers, then reuse the "stone" as "elevation" for another coral? Would it come back to life ???

We are a week further with the Tuka's
They are picky eaters and still very skinny.
I Counted seven this morning (I'm missing 2)
I am very hopeful

The Dispars are doing very well. These have now been introduced for 5 weeks (September 18).
They are well fed and eat very enthousiastically.
1-2 specimens always seem to hide.
I am very happy with these dispars

Glenn,

Do you quarantine your fish before you add them? If so, what method do you use. I am really interested in how you introduced the Anthias.

Thanks,

Anthias are a cool fish.

I've heard many SPS reefers actually dose nitrates/phosphates because their levels are too low

Thanks,
The fish bough are itch free because they are already threathed by the LFS.

Most important: I try to buy healthy speciments.

Only the itch susceptible fish like tangs and butterfly are quarantined and threated for 2-4 weeks in copper.

The anthiases goes straight into the display.
Never had any problem with that

I am curious if anyone had dead corals and liverocks out of the water for a few months and placed back into the tank come back alive?

Can corals survice this ordeal?

A had a assumed dead goniopora "rock" reused from a heap in the garden and used it as a pedastal for my duncanopsammia.

After a few days it turned out a surprise.
This was september 8, 2020

WOW!! I just found this thread, and your tank is AMAZING! Great job! I love those huge colonies!

It's mind blowing to find that the goniopora came back after being outside for months... cool!
