Skimmer opinion needed
Will have combined tank volume of approximately 75 gallons. Looking for an in sump skimmer. Is there something QUIET, small and affordable? Even if i have to buy it used im fine with that. Most skimmers seem to start around 150 gallons im seeing. Dont want a oversized skimmer because i will have a light bioload, and larger ones have a higher electricity demand. Any suggestions?

Bubble Magus 5 maybe? I use a 7, just replaced the pump after 5 years. Works pretty well, easy to adjust
I’ve seen the 5 sell around $200. Look for a used one. |

I have nothing but good things to say about my SCA-301 simmer.
I've been using it for almost 2 years on my ~70g system

I have a BM 7 for my 60g frag tank. Works like a charm. IMHO, you are better off with a slightly oversized skimmer than you would be with one that is just barely big enough.

I would chose a BM7 or over a BM5, Aqua Maxx has some new skimmers that work real good. Maybe a Aqua Max FC80 or. a Cone S Co-1
