Gigantea/Haddoni Hybrid
I recenly got this anemone back from my friend who keep him for me since the hurricane last year. Since I just put him in, it is easy to document the Gigantea characteristic of this apparent Haddoni. I took a few picture of this anemone which reside in the sand that have blue foot and slight spots on his column. Here are the pictures:
Green carpet in the sand with slighly long tentacles, but not unheard length for a healthy Haddoni. Certainly not long enough for a healthy Gigantea. Clearly reside in the sand with light spots on the column: Very pastel blue foot of a Gigantea and light purple spots:

A few months back, I posted pictures of my Gig, a couple of people, including yourself commented that it looks like a hybrid. Well the gig in photos you posted in the first post is almost identical to mine: 1. Longish tentacles (half an inch) but not those long flowy ones seen in videos 2. Under lights, my gig's column/foot is white with very faint purplish spots 3. As for sand dwelling, my current tank is barebottom so I cannot say for sure, but I had to put its column into an upright pvc pipe for it to stay put. |

Cancun,
Your anemone is clearly a Haddoni to me. Reefheart, Can you post a link to your thread? IMO, clearly there are hybrid of the two carpet species. Liking at my anemone without looking at the blue foot, which cannot be show due to his sand dwelling nature, one would ID him as a Haddoni. The only question is the light verrucae on the column.
