Green star issue

So I've had a green star for about 6 months and with in the last week only part of it opens. I haven't changed anything in the tank. It keeps growing but the middle won't open.

Is the water cleaner than before or have you placed the GSP higher up near the light? Both of these could be issues.

I do my bi weekly water changes. I did move it off the sand shortly after being in tank and it was fine where it's until recently. I did notice this morning that it was open partially in the area of the picture where it was closed. This was before the lights came on.

My guess would be the lights are too strong after you said that it was open in the morning before your lights came on. Drop it down deeper in the tank or off to a more shadowed area.
