I am putting the 'how to cure algae' thread into....

...the 'stickies', or permanently stuck threads at the top of this forum. If you see a post with algae, cyano, or dino problems, point the individual toward this thread. I think I've covered most of the problems and the fixes.

Everybody tends to get it at some point, and mostly---it happens to new tanks.

hahahaha. I can't tell you how many questions I have had over the years that are almost always answered in the stickies or by searching. So few questions are actually novel.

Do you see more people suffering algae problems now than say 10 years ago?
Or is it that there are just more reefers these days?

Questions seem to come in waves---we answer the algae question and then it's the parameters question, or the cycling question, or...or... But yes, the stickies are a how-to-handbook in miniature.
