Required Sump Space Super reef octopus XP-2000 Internal

What is the required sump space for this skimmer? Is a 13 X 16 area sufficient? I know the stated foot print is 12.5 x 8.5 x 22
I am also concern about the height of my sump 17" with a total available clearance of 29" under the tank will I be able to remove it if necessary. I will only have aprox. 12" to try and maneuver the skimmer out of the sump.

My super reef octopus RO PS 1000 skimmer section is only 14.5x10.0 total height 24.5 I just remove the cup and turn the skimmer on it’s side as it’s removed, I would think you should be fine with the space you have.

EDIT: Do keep in mind if you add a stand for the skimmer of change it’s height

Thank You

The skimmer will need to be raise aprox. 4" so taht it sits in the required 6" of water. I beleive at 26-27 inches it will fit in the stand fine.
By removing the cup I should be able to remove the whole skimmer.
Is this correct?

This sounds exactly like my soon to be set up. I have a 40 breeder with 10 inch baffles and same skimmer. I raised the skimmer up 4 inches giving it a total of about 27 inch height. My new stand will have about 29 inch clearance. You should be able to remove the skimmer without the cup. You obviously will not be able to lift it straight out, but at an angle.

Removing the cup should give you about 6" (more room) to remove the body of the skimmer.
